This was written to say thanks to Ian, the son of our Ghillie, Stewart, who lives on the tiny island of Grimsay, conjoined (almost) to North Uist.

Ian is a commercial diver, working on the island, repairing salmon cages and the like.

We three had a capsize!

This drama has now, as predicted, entered the myth-lore of North Uist,

It is reported in a separate little tale, called “Three Men and a Minnow”, soon to be uploaded.

We rewarded Ian with a bottle of Jura malt Whisky and this ode.
